Reasons for Your Videos to Remain Unsuccessful

Popularity of the video has increased substantially and it is still on the rise. This is the reason that most of the marketing firms around the globe are joining the club of video marketers.

There has been a rise of many things in the marketing world but they took no time to go into the abyss of oblivion. Video is unlike all of those things because it seems to stay until the end of internet.

As a matter of fact, a survey by HubSpot says that half of the consumers want to see the video content from the brands they like to buy from.

In this scenario, it would be pretty normal for you to work on the measures to start marketing using video content. But then you see that results just aren’t coming yet. You have had success with the SEO of your website and blog posts but you aren’t sure why you are not doing well with the video marketing.

There can be a number of reasons. A few ones are worth mentioning in this regard.

Ignoring the use of optimized transcript

Most videos watched on the Facebook are mute. And since there are so many people watching videos on Facebook, adding video transcript makes more sense.

Keep track of single current state. Move only to neighboring states. Ignore paths. Advantages: Use very little memory. Can often find reasonable solutions in large or infinite (continuous) state spaces. Pure optimization problems. All states have an objective function. Goal is to find state with max (or min) objective value. Does not quite fit into path-cost/goal-state formulation. Local search can do quite well on these problems.

Videos with transcript are not only beneficial in terms of engaging people who do not want to bother other people around them but these videos serve another purpose. Transcripts make videos more crawlable for search engine bots. It’s like adding content in the page.

Uninteresting thumbnail

A thumbnail of the video is not directly related to the SEO of your video. However, thumbnail does have a direct impact on whether or not your video is going to be clicked on.

You may have done everything right for your video in terms of title, video content and tags. But if you haven’t worked on creating an interesting thumbnail, you are actually not going to get many people watching your video.

One thing worth mentioning here is that the thumbnail should be relevant to the content of video. And it should not exaggerate things just to make people click.

Videos are not aligned with your webpages

This point is all about the performance of your webpage. You may have created a high quality video and embedded into your webpage. Now, you cannot expect your video to do the entire job of bringing traffic to your webpage. As a matter of fact, the poor quality content and other lacking on-page SEO elements will contribute in a drop of traffic for your website.

Furthermore, you will have to make sure that your webpage loads faster. If the webpage doesn’t load quickly, the people are not going to be much interested in waiting for the content and video to load.
